About Us

Who was Barrie?

Barrie Fruchey was a man who had an electrical business as well as an apple orchard. Doing electrical work brought him to many homes where he saw neighbors in need and was moved to find a way to help them. His compassion and desire to provide physical help to the community led to a clothing and food pantry originally located at Settlement Lutheran in Gowen, across the street from his apple orchard. Barrie's legacy and vision continues in Barrie's House today.

At Barrie's House, we believe that everyone deserves access to basic necessities like food and clothing. Our mission is to provide these resources with dignity and respect to our community members in need.
